The media doesn’t always get things right

This hoopla about Muslims and that stupid drawing has everyone in a tizzy.

I can understand it… sorta.

Some people are afraid of Muslims cause they think they’re the same as the “9-11 terrorists” and Muslims are pissed off cause they’re already considered the same as the “9-11 terrorists”.

Mmmm no. They’re not.

How would I know? I’ve lived around people of many different faiths, and I dated a guy who happened to be a Muslim. Went to class with a couple people who were Muslim.

Muslims praise Canadians for ‘unique’ response to Muhammad caricatures

OTTAWA (CP) – A coalition of Muslim groups is congratulating Canadians for their non-violent response to cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

The group says the Canadian response was unique in that it struck a balance between freedom of expression and protecting people from hate and racism. Group spokeswoman Tyseer Aboulnasr also praised Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay for emphasizing responsible expression while condemning the violent reaction to the cartoons in other countries.

In Pakistan, a cleric has announced a $1-million US bounty for killing the cartoonist who drew the caricatures.

Five people have been killed in Pakistan this week during protests against the cartoons.

In Denmark, where the prophet drawings were first published in September, the government said it had temporarily closed its embassy in Pakistan following the violent protests this week.

… Next!

Well… now that that’s over…

Don’t ask.

Anyways, I should be taking some of my entries off of here and onto my sites. Which, interestingly enough, have made it to the fabled Yahoo! search engine. I’m already getting hits.

Guess that means I get to do some work on my site.

Again. Still. As usual.

I talk about things on my schedule, not yours

I come around to talking about things in my own time.

This is inconvenient for some people.

Suck it up princess. It’s the way I am.

Take me as I am or don’t. Your choice

I have my reasons for being like this.

If you don’t like it – “Don’t let the door hit ya where the Lord split ya.”

[Edit]

Looks like someone did. *shrugs* Guess someone didn’t like me pointing out what I didn’t do (removing him from my 360 friends list), so he did it himself.

And before you bitch me out… keep in mind I have time coded screenshots.

Image Mkay? Buh bye now.

STOP HOMOPHOBIA

Gay is a three letter word

just like ‘you’ and ‘mee’ when it is misspelled.

Homophobia and You:

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

There’s a fine line between love and a waste of time

Despite the lyrics’ bitterness, this is actually a sweet song.

From : Avenue Q

There’s a fine, fine line between a lover and a friend;
There’s a fine, fine line between reality and pretend;
And you never know ’til you reach the top if it was worth the uphill climb.

There’s a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.

Reality check

Hmm… seems like I need to disallusion a few people of an idea…

Sorry guys, but here’s reality smacking you in the face:

Shane and I weren’t together for one solid chunk of time… it was off and on.

Off when he realized he didn’t care as much as he “should”.
On when he realized that he cared about me.
Off and on, off and on, off and on and off and on.

No, I didn’t spread the word every time we broke up, I’m a private person in some ways.

We just stuck with the first time we got together as the starting point and anniversary because it was easiest to remember.

TMI?

*sighs* How to begin this…

“Why have flashbacks and nightmares when you can have it in reality”

“My intuition told me that I was making a loaded choice, didn’t think it would be like THAT”

“Working through my past and I see it in the flesh 15 feet away”

Hmm… anyways, I’ll do the detached version…

Squirrels and flashbacks

Don’t you hate it when there’s something bouncing around in the back of your head but you can’t seem to quite capture and understand it… then it hits you out of the blue… and you feel like a complete idiot for not seeing it before?

I kept wondering why, after all this time, I felt the need to prove myself… to prove someone else’s nasty insinuations were wrong. Then I realized it was something I’d gone through before.

The previous post gives a basic rundown of what happened when I was 15, but until I started getting flashbacks again… I’d forgotten some of the emotional twisting he used to do.

Tribute – Angel

Angel

Age: 24
Gender: Female
Location: B.C., Canada

I met Angel a few years ago. A mutual friend was dropping her off while picking me up, and she decided she could spare the time to hang out with us. She gave me her number as she was being dropped off for the second time.

I’d like to say I called her, but I didn’t. I chickened out. Luckily she’s stubborn and pushed to have me in her life.
