I’m… me.

Ok, I know… you’re looking for a bit more than that. Let me see… (WordPress login – because I’m lazy)

I’m 28, female, on the west coast of Canada (British Columbia). I’m also a single mom who is a computer geek. To those of you who care, I’m a Pisces with Virgo ascending. I’m an introvert.

I design and tweak web pages in my spare time. I use Firefox and have many add-ons for it; it’s quite customized to my tastes. I love StumbleUpon (channel surfing on the internet). I play an online game called Kingdom of Loathing. My typing speed is in the triple digits.

I’m in the “other” category in most ways – I’m Pagan/Buddhist, open-minded, both artistic and analytical. My IQ is around 137 and I’m annoyed I can’t quite get into Mensa. I’m Canadian and live in a rainforest. I’m also slightly lysdexic, uh dyslexic.

I’m concerned about the environment, I recycle fervently. My favourite tea is chai. I have a head full of semi-useless trivia. My favourite colour is blue.

I use Firefox, not Internet Explorer. I use Linux 90% of the time – the 10% is gaming… on XP (cause it’s there). I laugh at the suckers who spend 1000+ bucks on upgrading their computer to Vista then find a video of Beryl/Compiz and kick themselves.

I love having heated debates about anything. I love sleeping and being alone.

    Nice blog!

    I really respect geek women, may be because they are less in number. I’m surprised that not only you’re geek but you use Linux 90% of the time, thats great!.

    Hello Amanda! I’m newer than new to the blog scene, and I’m looking for some technical advice . . . it seems like you may be the gal to ask! I am using this same theme (Garlands) and I wonder if it is possible to have a section in the left or right columns that I customize w/links, such as “My Recent Reads” listing the books and the titles are linked to the book description on amazon (etc.). Is this possible? I thought I would do this w/a text widget, but I can’t figure out how the text portion would be linked. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can send my way.

    I actually haven’t played with WordPress in a long while, but I think what you’re looking for is called a “blogroll”. I’m sure that the delay between your question and my answer has found that you’ve either figured it out, or completely forgotten that you asked me in the first place.
